"This will be a difficult review because the personnel at the motel were all friendly and genuinely seemed to be very happy working at the location. The positives of my stay were the people, the room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the restaurant was amazing. The food was great, the wait staff was excellent and they could handle a small dinner and also a large gathering with ease and professionalism. While I can't recommend the motel, I highly recommend the restaurant as a place to eat while in Lamar. The motel has been renovated and there are some very glaring and potentially serious issues for seniors at the location. The little things that were wrong are the room lacked any dresser drawers or closet space so you are forced to live out of your suitcase. There was no hair dryer and the couch was broken so it felt like you were sitting in a hole. The more serious items were an ADA violation in the lobby where there was a small bump between the lobby floor and the carpet on the way to the breakfast area. The breakfast food was undercooked, sausage and biscuits, and the glaring item is there was no elevator which requires seniors to climb 23 steep steps to get to their room. When I checked in I asked to be moved to a ground floor room but the staff person would not accommodate my request. At checkout the manager advised the relocation could have been done but that didn't help me during my stay. I would advise seniors to not stay at this property"
"The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and to make sure my stay was comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. The whole facility was impeccably clean. Would absolutely come stay again. Also, there is a waterside park and walking trails, in walking distance from the hotel, which was an excellent and peaceful bonus wen traveling with a dog. It was such a wonderful stay. I would happily return."
