"The staff is totally accommodating. They serve breakfast daily and the coffee is excellent. The hotel was built in 1949 so in our room just the very basics but it did have a microwave & brand new fridge. It didn't have a lot of extra plus for phones and tablets. You will need to unplug something to use a plug. No plug in the bathroom for a hairdryer (and bring your own) they don't have one in the room. But very convenient, quiet and great prices. We were using this as a base to visit other towns so worked out well."
"We stayed in 301 deluxe rm. I believed was downstairs. We had to carry everything up very steep stairs. She said she'd put us downstairs but there wasn't anything available. The code was on the dark low doorknob. My husband had to kneel with his light phone to do it. Above hall lights there were nests of bugs!
No waste basket in the room. When the tiny basket in the bathroom was full, I had to get a trash bag from the nice lady at the bar. The worst was that the floor was so crooked it gave me vertigo the first night. The bathroom floor was so bad that when I dropped an empty little bottle on the floor it quickly rolled across the floor to the tub. The bedroom was the same. You could feel it and see the crooked gap at the top of the two chairs and bureau mirror. As we walked across the very squeaky floor that moved, we had some things fall off the front of the bureau onto the floor at night.
There was no table in the room, so we had to use to use the top of the bureau to prepare our food. The last morning I saw the bed headboard was separated from the frame. A row of nails showed. It's the worse place we've ever stayed in. If we could have gotten reimbursed, we would have gone somewhere else.
On a good note the lady that tended the bar and also was our waitress one night we ate there (on our anniversary) was very nice and the meal was good. We knew it would be because we've eaten there before when we stayed in another place.. which we wished we had again."
"The property is getting a bit of an update, and the room that I had had a very comfortable bed, it was clean, and a great restaurant next door. The staff at check-in was very friendly and welcoming. I've stayed here a couple of times and will do so again."
