"As an older property, I was a little worried pulling up that the outside had been freshened up but the rooms wouldn’t be well-maintained. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a mix of the basics, with the coffee machine being the shining star for a large variety of selections. The quality of the room and bed were great and updated bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. Would definitely stay here again."

"The room was clean and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful, even though we couldn't get the T.V. to work, (we are not at all technical). Big bonus being dog friendly. The free breakfast was really nice with waffles, sausages, eggs, muffins and yogurt. And we had an upgrade to a king size bed! We will definately recoment THe Waddling Dog, and we will be back!"

"I loved the heritage building and all the antiques. The breakfast in the lovely old furnished dining room was very good and complementary. The waiter gave excellent customer service. On the downside, the room smelled horribly of some pungent air freshener. I’m very sensitive to toxic fragrances. We opened all the windows. When returning to the room for the night it was very cold. There’s only a plug in electric heater & when I turned it on it blew a fuse & the TV wouldn’t work again. The...

"It was a wonderful experience. No complaints. The front desk clerk helped us with our bags which was a nice touch. There were no microwaves and he offered to take it to the staff room and warm up for me. I have no complaints and enjoyed my stay."

"The windows in our room were so dirty that it was hard to see the view. The rug was thread bear and had a hole that had been poorly repaired with the rug pad showing through . The gardens may have been lovely in years gone by but clearly aren’t getting any attention now. For almost $400 Canadian/ night I would expect more attention to detail and care for this beautiful old home. I won’t return"
