"Very old traditional Ryokan. Beautiful garden/riverside views. We did not realize that there are no private baths - that was a big surprise but we were only there one night so it wasn't that problematic. Staff were very accommodating and Google Translate made communication very easy."

Everything is far and hilly, without a car this can be very inconvenient. The day we were there, it was raining and we could not even get a cab. "A beautiful stay and wonderful onsen- we opted for a private onsen thankfully as we were never able to get into one of the three private public onsens on site over the course of two days. Note that the area is stunning and very hilly- local restaurants etc close very early and/or have odd days they are open if you venture out. "
