"Nice location, Hilo Reed Beach Park is next door and very nice for kids and adults to just walk around and enjoy seeing turtles and fishes."

"The house was nice generally but the room I stayed in was very musty and smelled like cigarettes. The towels were horribly musty. It’s a must to use bleach on hotel towels but these smelled like it was not being used. The room mattress was way too soft for me. Finally, they required a $200 deposit which was not for incidentals but “in case there’s damage to the room”"

"For our visit to the Big Island we stayed in Waikoloa but planned to visit the volcano. Due to the amount of driving involved we decided to spend one night in Hilo and selected the Hilo Hawaiian. The property was clean and staff were pleasant and helpful. However the hotel is showing it's age. The furniture was beat up, curtains thin in spots and the sink had a crack. The amenities were very basic - TV, mini-fridge and hair dryer. I had looked forward to sitting on the balcony and enjoying...
