"I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The check-in process was smooth, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a long drive.
One of the highlights was the convenient location, which made getting around very easy. The amenities were nice, though the breakfast bar could use some improvement. The food itself was good when available, but items like eggs and breakfast sandwiches were not consistently restocked. After waiting a while, we notified the front desk. The staff member had to go to the back to find the kitchen worker, who seemed unaware the bar needed attention. Unfortunately, the employee appeared distracted, spending time visiting with a non-employee instead of focusing on keeping the breakfast area stocked. I also noticed a potential safety concern with the room door. When we left, the auto-lock engaged before the door fully closed, preventing it from shutting properly. I had to manually adjust the lever to secure it. This could be a security issue if not addressed. We stayed on the first floor, which was quiet and free of any disturbances. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its comfort and convenience. With a few improvements, particularly in breakfast service and attention to maintenance details, it could easily provide an excellent experience from start to finish."
"So I booked it for wrong weekend- not sure why the app suggested the following weekend instead of the night I was looking- needed 4/12, booked 4/19. That was my fault and was unfortunate. The clerk was rude- asking if I booked the right location since she couldn’t see the reservation. That’s how we discovered it was the wrong date. I was clearly panicking and trying to fix the dates, realized there was a huge fee- discussed this with my husband in front of the clerk. She never said anything. Another customer came in, we moved aside for them to check in- again clerk said nothing. After the other customer left and I had fixed the reservation- the clerk then says- you should have let me cancel it and we could have waived the fee. I looked at her and asked why she hadn’t said anything? She replied she “was going to”- I politely said that would have been a reason to interrupt my panic!!!?!
She only said sorry and then was rude again about not being able to see the new reservation and asked again did I book the right Forrest city - the other option being NC. I showed her the new reservation and she was irritated because I had an number from Expedia and not a confirmation number letting me know she did not approve of using Expedia and I “should have just booked it with her”. "
"I paid for an upgraded room. The comforter was dirty with black marks on it. A group of guys stood outside my room most of the night drinking and being loud. They would crank up their truck that sounded like it had no muffler it was so loud. Would never stay here again "
"Overall, my stay was wonderful and I would definitely consider coming back. The room was very clean and well-maintained, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The staff was also very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in was smooth, and anytime I had a question, they were quick to assist with a positive attitude."
"The place is convenient off the interstate but not well kept. It is dirty. Towels were dirty, hair on the washcloth, shampoo bottle was half empty. Chair in the room was falling apart. Two stars is generous and only because I have not seen any bugs in the room. For almost 100 dollars per night you expect the place to be simple but clean. This was not the case."
"Great, large room with two comfortable beds and fold-out couch. Nice pool and hot tub. Better than average breakfast. Very clean and well maintained. Seemed newer. Quiet. Close to state park. Restaurant options were mostly fast food."
