I couldn’t recommend this property enough. What a lovely place and lovely people. We were running late and the lady stayed up for us. We also experienced a punctured tyre on the way up and they let us stay in the property until it was sorted. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It was clean, warm and comfortable. It’s an absolute must to stop off and stay here.

The b&b is on a main road (A9) which is the road most traffic including large trucks use to go north/south of Scotland. The rooms are just above the bar so there is music on until about 10:30pm. The room itself was very nice, clean and spacious for the price we paid. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. There was also toiletries to use in the shared bathroom as well. Staff we spoke to were really friendly and asked if we needed anything for the room or would like our room cleaned. It’s in a good central location in the centre of Helmsdale, with a few options for eateries/groceries and riverside walks. A perfect stop if you’re doing NC500!

Upon arrival, the rooms had reserved parking in the lot, so parking was easy but it was unclear where to check in as the lower level of the building is a pub and there were no specific instructions given. The apartment was clean and spacious with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. Apartment is accessed by an external metal staircase from the pub garden.

Nice welcome and fine for my purposes

Warm welcome and comfortable room, with clean, pleasant shared bathroom and access to a kitchen where I microwaved my porridge for breakfast. The meals in the restaurant are particularly recommended (have had several times without staying in last few years), and there's a real ale beer, always a bonus!

Such wonder owners. Gerry and Alison were so welcoming. The property is lovely, there is a beautiful shared bathroom and kitchen to go with the lovely room. Comfortable, warm, perfect for what you need.
