The Hinanosato was renovated about 6-8 years ago and it is an amazing place to stay - the decor is heavy on 60's themes which gives it a mellow / laid back feel. The staff are great, the breakfasts were wonderful and our room had a spectacular view of the Mikuma river. Parking on site is very limited but they have a couple parking lots nearby that can be used. Highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel has such an amazing view onto the river and of the surrounding area! All the staff were extremely polite and helpful all through out our stay and in assisting us with a last minute taxi trip.

Awesome hotel

Everything was very clean and well organized to use easily. Hot spring was also great and river view that I see in the room was awesome! I'll stay again when I can visit Hita someday!

Worth to stay

Toyota san is very nice and helpful, it seems the only staff can speak English. Surrounding environment is good too. Breakfast also bringing me suprise!

I was charged USD300 per night to stay at a filthy so called hotel. First, the photos shown on Expedia were far from actual. The room wasn't bright and the room was very, very old and had insects in the tatami room. We actually killed a small spider by the door to the balcony (inside). Second, after we entered the room, we checked around, the open air tub in the balcony didn't have water running and when I looked up, there were dozens of spiders crawling around. There wasn't any other bathroom we could use to shower or bathe, we couldn't do it with spiders. Even though a day before I stayed at an onsen hotel with open air bath in the balcony, it wasn't anything like this. Third, there was very old and smoke smell when we entered the room. Felt like someone has smoked inside and no one had stayed for quite some time. Fourth, everything was old. Not classic, but old. Fifth, the room seemed haven't cleaned and not ready for stay. Even with all lights turned on, it was still dark and creepy with all above. How could you charge such price for this? I went to reception and told them I couldn't stay in a room with spiders. They offered us another smaller room with everything inside old and smelly, so I refused and left afterwards to stay another hotel. It was tiring as I checked in late at night and there wasn't any available room at nearby hotel so I had to drive 1 hour to Beppu to stay at a much cheaper but modern and clean hotel. Stay away from this "hostel".

* 좋았던 점 - 모든 직원이 매우 친절했습니다. 숙소 곳곳에 세심하게 준비되고 표기된 내용들로부터 직원의 사랑을 느낄 수 있었고 덕분에 편하게 지낼 수 있었습니다. 방도 아늑했고 대욕장과 2층 식당 뷰가 정말 멋졌습니다. * 아쉬웠던 점 - 방문한 일정 내 날씨가 매우 추워 개인실 노천탕 시설이 있는 방을 선택했지만 한번도 이용하지 못하여 아쉬웠습니다. 밤에 잘 때는 좀 추운 느낌입니다.
