This hotel is ideal for skiers and snowboarders - Benri Ski Rental has a branch within the hotel and provides daily free transfers to/from the slopes within the Yuzawa region. Ski rentals and ski pass purchase can be conveniently billed to the room. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Our clean and well maintained Japanese style room overlooks the slope and is spacious enough for four adults even has its own outdoor onsen bath. The half board package is great value for money - the Kaiseki dinner has a different menu every night, while the breakfast spread offers variety and is sumptuous. Futaba’s onsen is another delight, there are two each on the sixth and seventh floors and are rotated daily so we get to experience all of them during our stay. Overall Futaba provides a five-star experience and is highly recommended especially for visitors on a skiing holiday. "

"This is definitely not a 4-stars accommodation. Not sure why various booking websites, including Google, rank it 4-stars. There’s nothing luxurious. Food is average, nothing “wow” unlike what some reviewers wrote. I came to Shima Onsen for the Onsen, but this onsen, which is really small and without much of a view, was sorely disappointing. "

"It’s a good hotel to ski. They have shuttle bus every half hour between hotel and the train station. The massive hotel is facing a ski field, particularly good for beginners, ski school and park for kids. After ski, then you can enjoy the hot spring. It’s amazing. I also love the buffet. I may bring the kids back again for ski in future. "
