Hilton Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower Waikoloa Village

"I booked an ocean view room (not a partial ocean view) but ended up with a pool or resort view and no ocean view at all. The tram was out of service, but no one informed us, and there were no signs indicating it was broken. They said there would be a shuttle every ten minutes, but after waiting 45 minutes, there’s still no sign of it. Housekeeping woke me up to ask me what time we were checking out. Never staying here again!!!"

"Everything was wonderful, except there is only one coffee area in the ocean tower, which is quite a way from the other towers. There needs to be more than one coffee station, perhaps put one in the lobby area, which is more central. There also needs to be more family, friendly restaurants, otherwise you have to go down to the queen or Kings shops, and if you take the shuttle, it cost you five dollars apiece each way. Also was not thrilled with the housekeeping services. They only clean your room every other day, which is not sufficient because you’re in a pool and saltwater and use a lot of towels, and if you want your soiled towels taken away and fresh towels on a daily basis you have to call them and have them to bring you fresh towels, and pick up the soil towels. If you don’t request, they don’t take the soiled towels. They just leave them. When you’re paying the kind of price is to stay at a Hilton. I believe you should have daily housekeeping services, especially when this is a family oriented resort and mostly families with children and very small children. I do not believe every other day for cleaning the room is acceptable. The front office staff is wonderful and all the servers in the restaurant were very nice and supportive and very nice attitudes. On one side of the lobby toward the Kona pool there are several shops that are empty, I am hoping they put a coffee shop and maybe a more family friendly restaurant in that area that’s not quite as expensive."

Castle Hali'i Kai at Waikoloa

"WiFi was a big problem. We informed management but they were not able to resolve the issue. They kept telling us it was because we had too many devices. This was not true as the WiFi password kept saying the password was wrong. Further if it was device issue, the apartment was for 6, and we had six devices. The WiFi should support that shouldn’t it? The management was only available 10-6, so if you check in after 6 pm- you don’t get the pool/ gym card until the next day at 10am. Not ideal for people who are vacation and on a timeline. The unit owner keeps the AC locked. Fortunately there are very good fans that helped keep us comfortable. The pullout bed was filthy. Fortunately the management had left us an inflatable bed which was used instead of the pull out couch. Positive: The property area is safe and pretty and convenient. The water in the shower was hot."

"I can’t say enough about what a beautiful resort this is. Worth every penny. Excellent staff. Gorgeous gardens. We took daily walks. The scenery was amazing. The staff were always helpful and friendly. We are All Accor members. We took the bikes out and around the area. This hotel is truly a class act!"

"Had a nice stay here in Hawi without completely breaking the bank, tho I do miss the old funky hotel that used to be a brothel. This was considerably more comfy, if pricier. Still a decent price. Nice people, right around the corner from the main area of shops in town so coffee and meals were simple. Great option."
