Hotel Monterey Kobe was an amazing experience. The staff were attentive and kind, and the facilities were beautiful and well maintained. The concierge helped us make reservations at restaurants and local attractions. The onsen was an excellent amenity and very well maintained as well. This hotel is a wonderful choice for anyone visiting Kobe and the Osaka area.

Good reasons to choose the hotel

The public bath saloon is very big enough and comfortable. The menu of breakfast is more than expected with varieties of local food o Kobe. These two points are the reason why I choose the hotel again since January, 2025.

Good location not so far from stations and many restaurants around the hotel. I love Sauna so it is very nice that the hotel can provide the service. Very clean room. Well trained staff. I can recommend this hotel.

Staff was very nice and welcoming. Place seems a little old and outdated. We walked into the room and there was a strange smell, wasn’t awful but just smelt off. Bedding felt the same. The onsen/sauna room was very nice however. The shower head we had in our room either had so much pressure it hurt, or had another setting that felt like a mist that was barely cleaning me. Was a decent hotel, but personally if I was going to Kobe again I wouldn’t stay here.

Very clean with a nice bath and sauna. The room was relatively large for a Japanese hotel. The furniture and decoration was a bit dated and they could improve by upgrading the lobby and guest rooms with chairs, tables, and shelves amenable to doing remote work.

Property is on a small slop, 7 mins walk from jr Sannomiya station, can be difficult to find. Super near DON DONKY big store. Bf is excellent, with some days much better than others. Onsen is accepptable, but can be over whelming... too many people. Having a twin bed is rather spacious in Japan standard. Staff is efficient throughout, both recep n chamber. Would highly recomend. However, its location is far from shinkansen, shin kobe, shin osaka, ..and need to spend extra time getting to. Somewhat happening place a stonethrow, red light and food.
