"I'm so happy that we picked this hotel. While not the least expensive place in Kyoto, it was definitely worth the money spent. Our room was not facing the street, so bear that in mind since it is located on a busy street. The room was very quiet and very clean. We had a three bed hotel room and they provided a sleepshirt/yukata for each member of the family. The bathroom very clean and had one of the Toto bidet seats which was a plus for my wife.
The room itself was pretty roomy for a Japanese hotel.
The staff was extremely helpful. My limited Nihongo would have been issue, but fortunately several of the staff spoke English.
The big plus was that the hotel had a European style bakery (Cicon), so you could have a light breakfast and coffee. The baguette was nice. They also have some unique Japanese flavored breads for sale. If you're adventurous, go for it.
There is also a rooftop bar, but it was busy the time we visited so we didn't get a chance to sit up there.
There is a self paid laundry on site.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the Kiyomizu temple and a 7 minute walk to the Kyomizu-Gojo subway station, so your tourist spots are very walkable via the local transportation.
Oh, btw, there is a nice India/Bagladeshi restaurant called Chakra around the block. The owner speaks english and we had a great conversation with him."
