"Our stay was magical! This was our first experience with a ryokan and also our first night in Kyoto. The staff were very nice & helpful. The shared living space was quiet and clean. The gardens were gorgeous and the food was good. The japanese breakfast was delicious!!!"

"A good hotel can truly elevate the quality of a trip, and this hotel did exactly that. The room was much more spacious than I expected, and the hotel itself was excellent overall. It definitely enhanced my travel experience. However, I unfortunately did not receive much help from the staff. During this trip, I had an unexpected car issue and ended up checking in later than planned. Staff members are available only until 9 PM, and after that there is no one on-site. "Exceptionally nice staff. Beautiful onsen and most of the time had the whole onsen to myself, and it’s limited to 4 people at a time at max. The breakfast was amazing. Really nice garden view from our room which is shared with other rooms but felt private. There are also lots of shops and temples to explore in Ohara that are much less crowded than Kyoto. "
