"It was clean, quiet; mattresses were a bit soft for those of us with back issues. Not a lot of choices in Richland Center; we would stay there again."
"The location was about the only positive aspect of our stay. Unfortunately, the pool was closed, and we were informed that it would likely be several months before it was repaired. This was disappointing, as the pool was one of the amenities that influenced our booking decision.
We were also frustrated by the breakfast situation. On our second morning, we went down around 9:15 a.m. and found that the breakfast area had already been completely cleaned up. The day before, breakfast was still available after 9:30 a.m., and the binder in our room clearly stated that breakfast was served daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
When I asked the employee why breakfast had been removed early, she told me breakfast ended at 9:00 a.m. When I pointed out the posted hours in the room, she simply shrugged and said, “Oh well, I’ll keep that in mind.” The lack of concern and poor customer service were disappointing.
Overall, the location was convenient, but the closed amenities, inconsistent information, and dismissive staff response left us dissatisfied with our stay."
"Property is poorly maintained. Barely a trickle of cold water from the sink. Garish daylight bulbs in all the lamps. Dank smell in our room. Bathroom exhaust fan sometimes wouldn’t turn on. Ice maker was out of order. Even the beds (with built-in headboards) were on the wrong wall, making it hard to navigate the room.
Beds and pillows were ok."
"A welcome surprise, booked accidentally and we are so glad I did. Its an older motel, but the owner was wonderful, so freindly, rooms were surprisingly bigger than expected, bed was comphy, location was great, Viroqua diner right next door, it was quiet, clean, we have nothing bad to say. Had frig, micro, coffee pot, TV was good, free wifi, just a great experience all the way around."
"Ma'on House was wonderful! Very, very clean! The decor was chosen with attention to detail and period; it was beautiful! Mary, the hostess, was friendly and helpful. Her breakfast was yummy and plentiful. Would definitely stay again."
"Nice place to stay in the spring. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There's no A/C, but as long as you are expecting that, it's a great place. "
