"Our room was clean and the kitchen was reasonably well stocked with a toaster, pots, pans, silverware, and glasses. The standard sized refrigerator/freezer and the stovetop were both nice. Other limited small appliances were available from the front desk. The property's grills were in average condition. The grill utensils available from the desk were very good. The only actual food onsite was in the form of frozen sandwiches from a vending machine (which we ate the night we arrived as it was too late to go out to get other food) and they were actually decent, but a bit pricey. We had a suite with a separate bedroom and if we closed the door, the bedroom was miserably warm, so the air conditioning was less than great. The common areas on the property were not kept particularly clean and the same drips and dirt remained on the tile floors for days. If you want to wash some laundary, I would strongly recommend that you find an external laudary mat, as we paid $10 per load (a total of $30 for three), not just because of the cost of the loads (wash & dry), but because of the high "exchange rate" to use their app to operate the equipment. We purchased our own detergent at Walmart. There was plenty of parking around the building but the locks on the building entry doors were inconsistent and often would not open with the room keys. We had two small dogs, so we borrowed a broom a couple of times. Having one in each room would be better. The staff was pleasant & quite helpful,"

"This was definitely a budget option (which showed in the condition of the room and the lack of internet or breakfast), but the beds were clean and the room stayed cool overnight. It's also very conveniently located, just off the highway and close to a gas station and a very reasonable diner/family restaurant."

"My father was stranded in De Soto and needed a place to stay. I was able to book him a room at this motel until I could arrange a flight home to return him to Seattle. The staff was extremely helpful with accommodating him, and even gave him a ride to the airport so he wouldn’t miss his flight. I am extremely grateful to the staff for helping my dad get home safely. If I ever need to stay in De Soto I will seriously consider using their services!"

"This is a unique property. The house is beautiful, but it was a little difficult to tell what exactly we were getting from the listing. We wound up with a room with an en-suite bathroom, which I would definitely recommend, otherwise you may be sharing a bathroom with complete strangers. We stayed here as part of RAGBRAI, so it was completely full and folks were definitely having to share a bathroom and coordinate showers. Not a huge deal, but we were happy to have our room with the bathroom. All in all, a good stay"
