L'Etrier is a very good hotel with spectacular mountain views over the valley. These are perfect from the restaurant/ bar area. Not all rooms have been upgraded(August 2015) and you pay accordingly. Hotel staff are first class and I suspect it is privately run.

Faultless - great service.

We had a beautiful room with a large balcony with a view of the mountains. The staff in the hotel were charming and helpful. Breakfasts could be had in your room or the restaurant. There was yoghurt with homemade fruit compote, fruit salad, and delicious rolls and pastries.

Very nice for a Holiday inn Express and very near the centre of town

Great stay while convalescing - many thanks

A beautiful hotel with spacious rooms (with breathtaking mountain views) friendly staff, very comfortable beds and a sumptuous breakfast. We used the lovely spa after a long journey and enjoyed relaxing in the pools and the sauna. The next day we went for a superb snowshoe tour straight from the door. The staff let us keep our car in the garage and gave us a tea when we arrived even thought it was after 12pm checkout. Congratulations to the whole team for delivering a great stay in spite of...

Top-notch hotel, absolutely blown away by the beautiful views, amazing food and excellent service. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. The evening meal was devine and the breakfast was tasty too. And the heated outdoor pool at the spa with the mountain views, wow what an incredible experience! I was sad to only be able to stay here one night but I hope to be back again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Switzerland!

I don’t usually write reviews but felt compelled to write about le grand chalet. Excellent hotel with fantastic staff. Great views, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast (included, how refreshing!), fabulous wine list, helpful transportation service. Special thanks to Carol for all the advice, help with bookings, and making us feel so welcome; and to Charles for making the logistics of getting to/from Ski slopes and town so seamless. This was our first time to le grand chalet. We are already...

This family-run hotel is perhaps a bit dated, but the service and the rooms are impeccable. All the staff are very warm and friendly. Nice little extra: they gave us free season tickets for the Leukerbad Therme (which is just a few minutes down the road) for the duration of our stay, which allowed us to visit the spa as many times and as often as we wanted, at no extra cost.

The staff were really helpful, I was going to arrive late and no one would be at reception but they provided full info on where my room key would be and how to access it. During my stay they couldn't have been more helpful everytime I asked for info. Rooms cleaned everyday and mini toblerones on your bed, yum yum. I saw maintenance ongoing, which is positive, at least they didn't ignore faults in the hotel and keep going while trying to maximise profit at customers expense like many hotel...

A slightly unusual setup, checking in at one hotel, but staying in another - We stayed in The Maison Blanche. The Portuguese lady on reception couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful and gave us a lovely welcome. The room is quite dated, but has plenty of quirky character — including an old-fashioned radio built into the bedside cabinet. We had a few little niggles with the TV and fridge, but these were sorted out for us. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, with a lovely view from our room....
