This hotel has a beautiful lobby with a lady playing saxophone at night. It is so close to the nile and there are boats near the back of hotel which they can book for you . I keep asking for Felucca ride but there was always an excuse like there is no wind or the weather is bad but when we were out in the Nile river with a motor boat I saw there were lots of Felucca boat. They should have just been honest if their Felucca is broken/ not working and I can book from other tour operators. The staff were polite but after paying on check- in after 3 PM we were told the room was not ready. I was not really impress with our room. It was small , outdated and not really clean .( I happened to look down and see the floor while opening my luggage). Our room was on 5th floor and our view is the building construction next to the hotel and a bit of the Nile river. I didn't know you can see the valley of the kings from this hotel ( maybe if I go to the rooftop . And reception lady didn't orient me or mention what to see from Sonesta on check -in). My teenage son was able to swim in the pool, but the gym is small he said. We stayed in 5 star hotel in Cairo so I can't help but compare. I'm sorry but overall I can say that I didn't really enjoy my experience in 5 star Sonesta St George Hotel.

An elegant hotel with comfortable rooms and beds. Staff are friendly and service is good. A 10 minute walk will bring you to the river side cornice which is relatively newly revamped.and a further 19 minutes will bring you to the Luxor Temple.

The room was clean and spacious with good furniture and a royal washroom. Staff were friendly, polite, and professional. The restaurants are excellent The pool itself is excellent, the only problem with it tis the dosturbing construction noise from thr adjucant property which disturbs the peace. The Gym which is practicially useless! needs to have much more weights and better machines (some are even weongly deaigned!!!).

We stayed here for 4 nights and everything was great. Location is perfect, walking distance to Luxor Temple and Luxor Museum and just a short ride (5 min) to Karnak Temple. The corniche is also at a walking distance. Room was spacious, not too big not too small. Unfortunately our mini fridge was not working, but no big deal. Shower is ok, nothing special. We had a small patio with partial Nile river view. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options. Several breads, fruits and hot food. They also have an egg station. Coffee was great. We had lunch at the local restaurant Beban twice and one pizza one night. Food was good and prices are similar to tourist restaurants around. The pool is nice, although we haven’t use it, and there is also a great deck by the Nile, where we watched the sunset! Staff is kind and polite. Special shout out to the guest relations that went above and beyond to help me with one issue with my flight. Overall this was a great stay!
