"A lovely cottage with history and character. As mentioned in the listings it would not be suitable for someone very tall or with difficulties. Facilities are excellent everything you need supplied. Parking is free but beware spaces can be all taken - it states 23 hours stay - no return for an hour, so be aware there is a car park attendant around! Cottage is within easy reach of the town and Abbey. A lovely stay"

"It's not a bad place. But filthy carpets were the main disappointment & filthy smoke butts outside the main door up stairs. Was there for 3 days, not once did I see anybody do any cleaning or replenish towels or tea & coffee. That's why it wasn't value for money. "The property, where do I start?! It was amazing! From the initial walk in it had a wow factor about it, we met James, he was very helpful, with the convenience of being next door if needed. With 3 large bedrooms, one with an en-suite, cupboards and storage space, we had ample space to use. I would highly recommend this cottage, the added extras made the trip too! "

"Hotel is very central and comfortable, rooms are a decent size. However, when we checked in we noticed a lot of loose hair in our shower. We brought this to the attention of the desk staff who said they’d inform housekeeping to get it cleaned. (It wasn’t a stray hair - there were so many long dark hairs on the shower tray, glass, taps, toiletries and tiles. Also on the bathroom floor and the floor immediately outside the toilet). When we returned after 10pm, they were all still there. I cleaned them myself as I was desperate for a shower having been sightseeing for hours in 30 degree heat and having also arrived from 34 degree heat in Paris earlier in the day. This left a bitter taste in my mouth given that you’re paying £215 per night to stay there. The air conditioning worked well and kept the room comfortable given the heat and we were grateful for the fridge. The breakfast that’s included is fantastic. Very fresh and varied. Would we return or recommend the hotel? Probably not due to the unclean shower and the fact that it wasn’t rectified when brought to the attention of staff."
