"Despite paying more for our family suite we felt our room was a little bit dated. Overall the property is kept clean but we felt our room was just lacking that special something. Despite mentioning it was a special celebration for us returning to Malta for our 30 year anniversary we received no welcome for this as others have mentioned a different experience. Our room was spacious enough but the bathroom and especially the shower were very average. Beds were comfy enough and as we were in a higher front facing room the views were great even though our balcony had some scaffolding up next to us. Noise levels were ok given we were up higher and facing the busy street below. Breakfast was very average bordering on poor for us and the choice and quality was very basic. Hence we did not want to try the hotel restaurant and ate out elsewhere. Breakfast could be very busy depending on the time you arrived each morning. Staff were quick to clean up plates however. Reception and general staff friendliness was great. I feel the hotel could be much better with some improvements to the rooms and bathrooms and the general breakfast experience but maybe the whole area is fairly similar given it’s a busy tourist area."

"Lovely view from our room/balcony across the harbour and although there was noise from the road and the harbour the room was well soundproofed. Check in wasn't so good. We arrived a little early and were told our room wasn't ready and that they'd let us know when it was. We waited till long after the check in time and eventually decided to look for the room ourselves as the desk was busy and nobody had come back to us. The room was ready but not easy finding it due to the layout of the hotel and we had to ask someone to know that there were different lifts. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely outdoor and indoor pool. Breakfast choices were ok but a bit limited and the breakfast room extremely busy and crowded. Only one coffee machine working so always a long queue for coffee. I'd recommend this hotel for it's location near the harbour and ferry terminals but you need to be aware it's a steep uphill climb along a busy road. Our room was in the newer part of the hotel and was in good condition. They seem to be doing a lot of work at the moment to expand the hotel but we weren't bothered by it."

"Excellent hotel with 24/7 reception manned by helpful and obliging staff. Breakfast spread excellent- rooms very comfy and soundproof ensuring good night's sleep . Room service carried out well , despite one oversight which was immediately remedied as soon as we reported it . Can't wait to go back next year !!!"

"Breakfast was good staff great room clean but TV channels crap only news channels on rooms also bit outdated. Surrounding area around hotel absolute nightmare building sites everywhere getting around was horrendous "

"It was my first time in Malta. I had zero expectations and I was blown away. Especially how well kept the hotel was and how friendly and helpful the staff was. Rooms were clean and comfortable. When I checked out I was even offered a to go breakfast box as my flight was at 7am, which I couldn’t resist. Highly recommend this hotel and was worth every penny I payed. Will definitely be back :)"

"Location of the hotel is great. Based in Sliema/Griza area it is a 5 minute walk to the Sliema docks where you can easily hop on a ferry or one of the gondolas (€3 per person one-way) to Valletta. The hotel doesn't have an on-site pool but across the road there is Aqualuna which is like a beach club vibe (pool, sun loungers etc) and entrance is free to customers of the hotel. (You need to collect a receipt from hotel reception each day to access Aqualuna). Hotel is approx 15 minutes from the airport (traffic dependent). Room was cleaned every day and overall cleanliness of the hotel is good."
