"Location excellent, staff were lovely and very helpful, pool area great, beach beds shaded under coconut palms. Sea had a lot of weed but still fine for swimming. Food was good and they set up the dinner dining area in different locations including twice on the beach which was magical. "

"My husband and I split our time in Zanzibar between two places. Our first stay was a the KonoKono resort and in the over water villas. It was absolutely fabulous and honestly the nicest hotel room/villa we have ever experienced. We felt totally spoilt by the hotel and well looked after for our stay. The food was delicious! I have a severe allergy to garlic and gluten and they catered to my needs so I didn’t feel like I was missing out.

Wonderful Stay at Maya Hotel Resort!
I had an amazing experience at the Maya Hotel Resort during my 7-day stay. My first impression wasn’t the best, as we arrived at night, and I couldn’t see the ocean because the tide was out. However, in the morning, the water returned, and with better lighting, I was able to fully appreciate the beauty of the resort.

"eden paradise er er super dejligt lille hotel med en dejlig have og få minutter til stranden. jeg har boet her i en hel måned og har nydt mit ophold her. der er dejligt rent og en mega hyggelig lille paradis have. sandra gjorde alt hvad hun kunne når strømmen af og til går. og det gør den tit- men det gør den overalt på zanzibar. der var to piger ansat til rengøring og madlavning og jeg havde intet at klage over. et dejligt lille hjørne i michamvi og stille og roligt sted. "The hotel is very new next to the new stadium sports complex which is one year old.
There was some problems with the shower door and safe but the staff quickly moved us to another room.
Breakfast and room service were very good.
The shower has excellent strong water pressure and air cons work very well.
You have to get a taxi into the centre of stone town which will cost you USD15 each way, but it is worth for the convenience of being away from the hustle and bustle - it was peaceful. "

"I am a solo female traveller. Zanzibar House is an excellent property in so many ways. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are a delight to be in, with lots of comfortable places to sit and read or contemplate the beauty of the area.

"Beautiful hotel. The staff is the best part. The barefoot concept is great. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet getaway this is the one. The ocean is not very accessible as it is mainly coral so keep that in mind when booking- you will most likely be 99% in the pool not the ocean."
