"Room was big and comfortable. But it was dark, there was no desk, which helps for just even having a cup of coffee, not to mention working with a laptop, and there was no bar to grab on to in the shower which was very slippery"
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Clifton Park/Saratoga Area
2/10 Terrible
"We recently stayed at a La Quinta by Wyndham property while in town for my daughter’s dance competition, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing from the moment we arrived.
Upon entering the room, there was a strong mildew smell that immediately made the space feel unclean and uncomfortable. It was also clear the room had not been properly serviced prior to our arrival. The bathroom was not clean, with visible urine stains at the base of the toilet, and the trash had not been emptied. The bedding also had an unpleasant odor, which made it difficult to feel comfortable using it during our stay.
In addition to the cleanliness issues, there were several maintenance problems that significantly impacted our comfort. The in-room phone did not work at all, so I had to use my personal cell phone to contact the front desk for assistance. The heating system was also malfunctioning—it would briefly produce heat and then switch back to cold air after only a few minutes, making it very difficult to stay warm, especially at night. Because of this, I ended up sleeping in my husband’s hoodie each night and avoided using the blankets due to their smell.
There were also concerns with billing. My credit card was charged twice, including an unexpected charge in the middle of the night that triggered a fraud alert on my account. This added unnecessary stress to an already uncomfortable stay.
I did speak with a front desk associate both in person and over the phone. She was po"
"Had a fantastic stay here, wonderful welcome from Brian on the front desk, and also a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was a very nice surprise.
All the staff were great and the hotel is lovely. Enjoyed the gym and the indoor pool area. Good location to explore lovely Saratoga Springs for our short stopover on the way to NYC."
"This property is not close enough to downtown Saratoga Springs to be this expensive off season. I paid $170 for one night, and the room was just flat out depressing. Old, loud AC and heating system, and there really is NO hospitality at this location. The TV was fixed on the wall and the only place you could see it was to sit at a computer table. If you were on the couch or in the bed good luck! My real issue was how stressful it was to check in after driving almost 5 hours to get there. After paying for the room up front in a nonrefundable situation, I was asked for my ID which I gave her and then expected to get my keys. But NO. The desk clerk wanted my CC for incidentals, and I did not have it on me, because...my room had already been paid. She had to call her manager who told her to tell me I had to leave $150 with the desk clerk who had already refused to give me a written receipt if in fact I could leave the deposit in lieu of the CC. After speaking with the GM I realized she had no idea that the information on the Expedia site made no mention of the CC required at check-in. She said she never speaks to them, and they are not in the country anyway!!!! This is what happens when people have no business being in management get promoted. The GM finally said I could leave a smaller deposit, so I did still no receipt. This morning the day clerk was not too happy to see me being clued in to the situation no doubt. Terrible."
