Midas Belize

"It wasn't a bad stay but it wasn't what I expected. Instead of a room in the main hotel, we were upgraded to a cabin, in the back of the property where it was so dark I drove into the concrete septic block! No damage fortunately. And I guess back there was better than being up front because of a loud party on a Monday night. At least the room was clean, the bathroom was huge, and the bed was comfortable for the price. Unlikely to return."

"Great stay! Beautiful, quiet, well kept grounds. Clean accommodations and very comfortable beds. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convient to town and free pick for most tours in the area. Would definitely stay again."

"The grounds are insanely beautiful. We had an incredible stay. The ATM tour and visiting Cahal Pech (in the backyard!) are musts. Don’t let the hill intimidate you. The town itself is lovely! Can’t wait to come back! Our suite was beautiful and the staff so attentive!"

"Beautiful accommodation with a view of the city, warm and helpful staff always ready to assist or offer advice. There are two great pools for cooling off on hot days. The rooms are simply furnished; they lack a wardrobe or dresser for storing clothes—there is only a small rack with a few hangers—and there are no cups or mugs; a fridge would also be a welcome addition. The hotel's location is perfect, just a few steps from the Mayan ruins."
Mystic River Resort

"What a beautiful experience! I HIGHLY recommend. My husband and I were looking for a quiet, peaceful, jungle experience and Mystic River delivered. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, and our room was wonderful and the bed was comfy. Steve, Mike & Olivia went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Steve & Olivia took care of us at the facility and Mike was our wonderful tour guide the entire stay. The food was delicious and perfectly plated (many thanks to the chef) and the rum punch was very good & hit the spot (many thanks to Steve 😉). Our room was fun. Steve delivered fresh coffee & pastries to our front door every morning. It had a plunge pool and was right along the beautiful Macal River. We got to see toucans!! The only negative is the neighboring resort's generator!!! Mystic River is solar powered so there's no generator noise whatsoever. It's very unfortunate the other resort isn't cognitive of the noise their generator is causing. Apparently it just recently happened."
Villa Massis Luxury Jungle Villas

"The staff at Villa Massis made us feel like family from the second we walked in! The food and drinks were wonderful. The room was perfect. The property is absolutely beautiful! Joelle (spelling?) was extremely warm and helpful. He booked us a private tour to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins. Mark was our guide and the tour was incredible! Their bartender, Gio, knew exactly how to cool us off after a hot day. Lucy always had the most beautiful smile on her face. The owner (can't remember his name) was very friendly and we could tell how much love he put into this property. Everyone was so happy to see us enjoying ourselves there. The best breakfast of our entire trip to Belize was at this resort! We will 100% be back to visit and will be bringing friends next time!"

"Staff was great and verry accommodating. Food was not so good. One pool was a little dirty because they didn't have it circulating. The other pool was other other side of the property. The roads coming in were absolutely horrible. Very rocky and washed out"
Blancaneaux Lodge by Francis Ford Coppola

"We just returned from Blancaneaux, and we’re still thinking about the food, service, ambiance, and overall experience. It was absolutely outstanding, and I highly recommend staying here. A few things I especially loved: Everything was incredibly clean, with this beautiful indoor/outdoor feel. You are truly in the middle of the jungle, and it feels like it. They have an organic garden on site. Fresh, high-quality food is really important to me, and this was a standout. You can have complimentary coffee brought to your room in the morning. It sounds like a small detail, but it makes such a difference. If you are a runner, you can run at the nearby airstrip, which is a huge bonus. A couple of tips: If you hike to Big Rock Falls, be prepared. It is a rigorous hike and can get very slippery, especially if it has rained. Bring plenty of water. If you swim in the river or around the falls, the rocks can be extremely slippery. We found it was much better not to try to stand up on them. Overall, Blancaneaux was one of those places that really lived up to the experience we were hoping for. Beautiful setting, wonderful people, and some of the freshest food we’ve ever had."
