"A beautiful location and an ideal base to explore the west coast. Rooms were spacious, clean & beds very comfortable. Staff all very helpful & friendly and the food was great too. We visited during a heatwave (which is rare) but it was uncomfortably hot in the room, even with fans - air conditioning would be ideal and if the weather patterns continue, this might be a worthwhile investment? The only other thing we missed was a fridge in the room - being able to chill drinks would’ve been even...

"As of May 2026, property was being renovated. We received a remodeled room, which was clean and adequately appointed. We had stayed here about 3 years earlier, so the fact that we returned is a positive. Staff were friendly. The hotel is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. Its not in the center of town, buy you walk (about 20+ minutes)."

"The property was clean and well maintained with a modern look. The room had an efficient layout and the beds were comfortable. There was also a decent amount of water pressure and there was ample parking. Two minor issues were the shower design seems odd as water gets all over the floor and it was hard to hear the front desk staff on the phone."

"This hostel is fantastic! The rooms are incredibly spacious, and since we were a group of four, we were given two rooms connected by a bathroom in the middle. Both rooms are cozy, and the bathroom is large and clean, featuring a fantastic shower. The decor of the hostel is vibrant and eclectic, adding to the overall charm. Plus, there's a mini fridge in the bedroom, which is a nice touch. One thing to note is that there is no air conditioning, but it didn't affect our stay; I'm just mentioning...

"Parking was easy and free. Staff within were not very professional. Getting food was terrible-very slow, not helpful and didn't care. Couldn't fathom check in rules as we couldn't get a room earlier yet a family member who had not arrived could....same type room. Crazy. I know it wasn't checkin time but we had to get changed for an evening wedding do and asked but they weren't very pleasant with their attitude"

"No complaints! The upstairs hallways are a little dark and moody but it has a mysterious allure :D The vending machine was really convenient since there's no minibar, loved the spacey shower. Comfortable stay, nice people :)"

"Salthill Hotel is in a great location, lovely beach views and easy access to stroll on the promenade. The breakfast was good. I don't know what they were passing off as a chicken caesar salad but it was horrible. Whatever it was, it wasn't caesar but doused in it. Pizza was good enough. Music in the bar on saturday night was entertaining. Not trad but a good mix of classics and country. The rooms felt a little dated. Bed was comfy. Shower pressure good."

"Room was clean and had air conditioning. Shower was good, no complaints. Lifts worked, great access to downtown. I didn't book parking at the building but they validated parking at the near by parking garage so it gave a comparable rate."

"The location was great and the staff were lovely--however the room was very small and had to crawl into the bed which made it tough and won't suit people who have mobility issues in terms of getting in and out of the bed. Other than that-given the location I expected to hear noise but it was quiet. I would stay there again ."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms had updated fixtures, beds were very comfortable, and everything was immaculately decorated. We also had both dinner and brunch at the hotel’s restaurant. Everything was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful inside. 10/10 recommend"
