"This location was ideal for us because of its remote location. We had no difficulty with accessibility to it, because the hotel offered complimentary shuttle service to and from the local train station if you pre-arranged it in advance. Food was locally sourced and exceptional in quality. The outdoor baths were relaxing as they were set among the forest. Loved the friendliness of the staff. We had no problem communicating in Japanese but did find some of the Indian staff speaking English with us difficult to understand. This accommodation was perfect for a brief respite after the Nakasendo trail."
"The property itself is so beautiful.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The rooms were as described and actually quite large.
We really enjoyed the balcony.
Note all rooms are smoking but as a non smoker it did not really bother me after they they used the spray. "
"A genuinely unique and special experience. We had a room with private outdoor soaking tub and it was well worth the extra cost to have the memorable experience. The dinner provided was luxurious and memorable as well. "
"Stayed 2 nights to do the Nakasendo trail and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The entire place was spotless and the service was too notch. We were a bit hesitant on the shared bathrooms, however it was not a concern at all. The city of Nakatsugawa is a hidden gem and we enjoyed our stay here, can’t recommend it enough if you’re in the area! "
"Check in staff were exceptional! Although we speak some Nihongo, a technically Eigo-competent staffer clearly explained all aspects essential to our visit. Very helpful. "
