The beds were comfortable, but the bathroom left much to be desired. Floor was not clean, baseboards were gross. The drain stopper was broken. The part that was supposed to be the stopper was sitting on the counter and when I tried to pick it up, it was rusted to the counter. The toilet leaked which made the floor even worse and we had to place towels around it. These broken items didn’t just happen but obviously had been broken a long time, so we didn’t complain. It would have required replacing the toilet and having to move out of the room. The staff, however, were friendly, helpful and accommodating. My husband fell going out the front door because the first step was so high from the threshold to the sidewalk. There was a very small plague on the door—gold in engraved letters and difficult to see/read—too small for a proper warning for a step down that big. He scrapped the skin on his wrist almost completely off. It still isn’t completely healed!! Bruised his leg, scraped his face, bruised his ribs. Your question about the condition of the property around the hotel? It’s the French Quarter!!! Not much in the FQ is in good condition!! But this isn’t the fault of the hotel.

The hotel is DESPERATE for an updating/renovation. Our room had MOLD! The lamps were old, outdated, broken. The carpet needs to be replaced. The ac doesnt work good. No matter what temp you set it, the room does not get cold. We had to sleep at the feet of the bed for the 1 ac vent to hit us. The walls are super thin, you can hear everything. Overall i would not recommend it especially for the price.

This hotel was perfect for our stay. If you’re used to chain hotels this place is not for you. The building is old, historical, the architecture is beautiful. It’s one block from Bourbon St. all the shopping and dining you need. It’s a perfect location if you don’t mind walking and enjoying the history and architecture. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Room was perfect for our needs. We were there to explore and not stay in the room. Bed was comfortable and firm. We will definitely stay there again.

I booked this room last minute on my motorcycle trip. It was affordable and right by everything. Walking distance to Bourbon St and that area. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The parking garage is extremely convenient and the staff kept a close eye on everything. The room was beautiful and unbelievably comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone to stay in.

The room was very nice. A little noisy but that’s to be expected. Staff was nice. Housekeeping missed us one day but they brought us towels etc right away. We would stay here again but probably in the main building instead of the Hermannn house.

It was super close to Boubon Street , French Market, Cafe DuMonde, River, St Louis Church, SuperDome. We did all of this on foot in the 2 days. There are excellent restaurants very close. The valet parking meant our vehicle was safe. It was an extra $50 though, but worth it to keep my car safe. The valet can organize shuttles for you too. We enjoyed the saltwater pool and views. The staff was polite, friendly and helpful. Great job! We loved our stay.

I went to bed at 10 and woke up at 3am to a ghost tucking me in. When we got up in the morning our ice chest had been opened and things moved around. Loved it!!
