Ormond is 4 or 5 miles north of Daytona Beach. The beaches are somewhat quieter. There are restaurants everywhere and the beach is very nice.

Do not drive on the beach UNLESS you have a four-wheel drive. The sand is very soft and I witnessed 3 vehicles stuck in two days. There is SAND TOW, but I believe it is $160 to tow.

The beach was great...very clean, lots of shells. The heated pool was a nice plus in February. The water was just a short walk (50 yards) from our cottages.

Definitely an old people beach but great if you just want to relax away from the buzz of Daytona. Not much to do around you family wise or with children.

Gorgeous beach, pool with ocean view, ample souvenir shopping within walking distance. There was also retail shopping and grocery nearby.
