"Problems are too numerous to mention so will provide the highlights.
The good: Location - Onsite and the access road to the lodge are prime birding and butterfly and iguana areas. It's wonderful! Just ~10 minutes away from great local Sodas for good food. AC works, which is important in the oppressive heat this time of year. There is onsite food if you're desperate not to drive elsewhere.
Disappointing: Per Expedia description,
Authentic Costa Rican food: false. It's a pizza/pasta...

"Absolutely amazing stay at Marala Hotel! We booked their best Premium Suite, and it was 100% worth the splurge. The property is gorgeous, peaceful, beautifully maintained, and made our Costa Rica trip feel extra special. The suite itself was incredible and absolutely lived up to the premium experience.
One tip: having a car in Costa Rica is a must! We had a 4WD truck, which made exploring so much easier and gave us the freedom to go wherever we wanted.
