"Within easy walking distance of several restaurants.
Room clean and quiet. Air conditioner good, shower water hot.
4:30 a.m. coffee fresh and hot. Breakfast good standard hotel fare. Pool and gym looked nice, but did not use. Free parking in either street or next door municipal garage. All staff friendly and helpful.
We were in town for annual event nearby. If we come to event again next year, we will not be researching for alternative accommodation"
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pikeville by IHG
8/10 Good
"We had a pleasant one night stay during our during our road trip. Parking lot could be better. And our room had lot of traffic noise. Staff was great."
"The Gateway was the best motel experience we have ever had! It was a beautiful area and the motel had comfortable beds and quiet rooms and a super friendly staff!"
"The property was very clean. The bed was very comfortable except for the flat pillows. We had very poor tv for both nights. It was frustrating that we couldn’t watch the nba playoffs on either tv because their satellite had poor reception. The front desk never answers the phone so I went down to the desk and the employee was reading and eating pizza. The second night they didn’t answer because they were folding laundry. With that being said there are limited options in Pikeville(which is a lovely town)."
"This property is an empty, abandoned gas station and has quite clearly not been in operation for years. I cannot understand how it's still listed on Expedia and Google, because it literally an empty gas station with no lighting and busted-out windows in the middle of nowhere. I drove an hour to get to this place, arrived in the darkness to find a condemned property, and had to drive to a nearby house to get help because of the lack of phone service in Wharncliffe! Expedia, how are you still listing this non-existent property? I was really lucky that nothing bad happened to me in the middle of the countryside, and I was lucky I was able to find another motel with space for me that evening. Expedia, you should be ashamed for continuing to list this derelict property as functional!"
