Be prepared to do a lot of walking. Resort is a very large property. All spread out through the jungle.

ChatGPT I spent four nights with my family. The meals were enjoyable, and the staff was exceptionally courteous and supportive. However, there were two significant downsides: firstly, there were limited entertainment options, especially for children. Secondly, the front desk seemed indifferent to requests beyond what was initially paid for. For instance, despite my request to be near the lobby and buffet due to traveling with young children and elderly family members, my accommodation was allocated at the farthest end of the complex.

Deserves more like 4 and a half but overrall a great place to stay for families. Walking between rooms and dining can be a bit much for the kids but could be remediated if they added more places to dine around the property. Natural vegetation around the hotel is beautiful and it’s own beach is great for the little ones.

My experience was marred by numerous issues that severely affected the quality of my stay. Upon arrival, I encountered several problems that remained unresolved despite multiple attempts to seek assistance from the staff: **Room Cleaning**: On the first day, my room was not cleaned. I called the front desk multiple times without any response. Eventually, I dialed “0” and spoke with a lady who assured me someone would be notified. We left for the beach, and upon our return, the room was finally cleaned, but no towels were provided. Once again, I had to call, dial “0” for assistance, and waited another 20 minutes to receive the towels, even though we had a show to catch in 30 minutes. **Room Maintenance**: The balcony door was broken, with the hinges coming off, posing a safety hazard. This required yet another call to the front desk, which again went unanswered initially. **Timeshare Pressure**: Throughout our stay, we were constantly approached by staff attempting to sell timeshares. Unaware of what it was at first, we were misled and wasted a considerable amount of our time. **Dinner Reservations**: Making dinner reservations was extremely frustrating. The only option was to go to the main lobby, where the staff was often absent. Overall, my experience at Occidental at Xcaret was far below the standard I expected. The lack of prompt service, inadequate room maintenance, excessive timeshare solicitations, and poor handling of guest requests are unacceptable.
