This was the scariest experience. Was to meet someone at hotel, who was scammed seriously by this hotel. We felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that we didn't end up staying there. Spoke to some other local Canadians who said they also heard similar stories from this hotel.
This is what says :
BEWARE- MAJOR SCAMMERS!! I booked a reservation through What's App, after grabbing the number from Expedia and Google, +52 984 458 9539.
I paid them directly via transfer to JAZIEL MENDES GUZMAN. Luckily, I insisted on them sending me an invoice, which they resisted originally.
When I arrived, the receptionist told me that the "reservation doesn't exist" and refused to give me a room. She then told me that the phone number I was messaging was the "wrong number " even though it was advertised everywhere! She refused to honor the reservation
I later found out that this is a typical Mexican scam. The receptionist, manager and housekeeper scam people of paying them directly and then they split the money amongst themselves and then play dumb and innocent . Their typical excuses are " we don't have this reservation, There's been a flood, we don't have electricity ".... Where is the owner of this hotel? Zero accountability for taking advantage of tourists.
