"I never write reviews but my experience was amazing and deserves to be talked about.
I picked this hotel because it was close to the Event Center for a full weekend convention we were attending. It ended up being right across the street, SO convenient! We arrived around 1ish, I went into the hotel to see if we could park there early and then come back over to check in after 3 and the wonderful lady at the desk let us check in early! It was such a nice surprise to not have to leave our bags in the car and to be able to run up to our room and freshen up after driving and everything.
Our room was nice and clean. Fridge was cold, microwave worked, AC stayed on all night. The view of the water/city is also really pretty at night. Our floor also was relatively quiet at night which was also a plus.
Breakfast was decent, typical hotel breakfast. Well stocked for how busy it was, no complaints.
Check out was seamless and when we checked out, they let us keep our car parked there until the afternoon so we could attend the final day of our convention without paying parking somewhere else. So that also was an amazing perk. We will most definetly stay again next year!!"
Ramada Tropics Resort & Conf Center by Wyndham Des Moines
8/10 Good
"This property was priced well and had a restaurant with bar on site. The water part closes at 9 pm so that was a bummer as we were unable to use it and it looked very enjoyable. The pasta we ate was delicious and priced fairly as well."
"The stay here was decent the staff was friendly but there we things that were lacking. Room cleaning was very poor. I had to call so many times and yet I'm my 5 day stay only 1 day was cleaned fully. I had to put our trash outside in the hallway just for it to be done. Noticed some of our items went missing as well which was very odd. Other than that everything was decent a 5/10 could have been better but not the worse."
"This is an absolutely beautiful hotel and the staff was more than friendly! Breakfast was great! Will definitely stay again if ever in downtown Des Moines!"
