"Great stay, staff were amazing, check in was a breeze, including a comp upgrade for our 20th anniversary. Only stayed for one night; but could have happily stayed longer. Room was immaculate, view is stunning across Whitby and the Abbey. Cooked breakfast was great, poached eggs on request, missed out on the fruit, but that’s what a lie in does. A lie in caused by a really comfortable bed, best night asleep in a good while! Thanks Royal Hotel, we really appreciated being looked after so well!"

"upgraded to a suite beach house sandsend excellent thank you.the brasserie food we thought was overpriced for instance we had chicken kyffs compared to a meal deal from m and s at £15 for the same meal which also included veg and a sweet.the staff were very helpful and friendly."

"Rooms a bit dated but fine and comfortable. Smart TV recently installed which was good addition. Staff very helpful and approachable. Food good. Bar busy as a popular wedding venue. Third stay here and will return again. Good value and great location. "

"Hotel was in a great location close to main routes to Darlington and Middlesbrough. It was also close to Teeside Park which has an array of shops, a cinema and lots of eating options. The hotel was modern and clean with a good gym, check in was seamless and the staff were polite and helpful. I would definitely stay there again! "
