The brick three-story building with four windows is the Rembrandt House Museum. The artist bought the house in 1639, paying a rather large amount of 13 thousand guilders for those times. We can say that the most important events in his life took place in this house - the son Titus was born, and the beloved wife Saskia died a year later. Here he wrote his famous "Night Watch" and began to collect a collection of works of art. The house stood in the Jewish quarter and some of its residents posed for Rembrandt as models. With them, he wrote sketches and paintings on biblical scenes. In 1659, Rembrandt went bankrupt and was forced to sell all his property, including the house.
