"I like I was able to check in 2 hours early. I did not like I had to pay a $191 deposit for my stay. I did not like I had a broken toilet seat when I entered my hotel room, after paying $191 for a deposit. I had to go to the front desk twice to finally get someone to fix it, so my deposit wouldn’t be taken. I think the male hotel clerk knew this before charging me a deposit, that wasn’t expected. After that the day of me checking out, I inquired about my deposit being returned and they told me...

"The carpet smell proves to be old Therefore causing a musky smell that opaques the cleanliness of the location"

"The entire lobby and hotel reaks of weed. There was no iron or board in the room at all. The entire toilet was leaking around the bathroom. There was only one working elevator when we checked out. The key card quit working completely on day 2. However, shuttle driver is the highlight of the property !!"

"Petty low key nice little ( big ) hotel. I like it, small environment changes like free parking since the place is always busy, they got the money to let parking slide. Have free breakfast. Bistro’s breakfast is not worth paying. Hampton Inn makes better breakfast and it’s free. Over good place"

"The female desk clerk was rude, I was told that the breakfast staff was making fun of an over weight guest. They were pointing fingers. Shaking there head on how big she was. Coming from the back to show other staff members. So rude. I would not recommend a dog to stay at this location, I have nothing good to say about this location but it had a bed for me to sleep. Never again. And I plan on returning next year NEVER AGAIN!"

"Inspite of being in the hotel business for a long time, Howard Johnson still has a good cleanliness standard , welcoming front desk and staff and one of the lowest pricing. Aside from being so conveniently near the Newark Airport, it also has so much room for parking."

"Called for the shuttle from the airport after landing at 3:30 AM, and waited 40 minutes past when I was told that it would arrive by the front desk. Called back to see how much longer it would be, and they said only 5 minutes. Ended up hopping into a nearby hotel’s shuttle just to get in bed before 5 AM. Would have just preferred a little more consistency in shuttle schedule, especially that late at night. Clean place with nice sized rooms for the price though. Breakfast had a nice spread as...

"Hotel is near the airport. Food outrageous in price, but no options nearby. No amenities of any kind. Outlets falling apart. BUT, bed was very comfortable and it was completely SILENT. We slept well and that’s our priority."
