Great location close to the train station, Mirabel gardens and hop on hop off bus in walking distance. We ate in the restaurant every night, meals were well priced and amazing.The staff were a great help with our questions. Thank you Toth for the great service you provided in the restaurant, you must try the Wien as schnitzel!

Definite Stay

Mercure in Salzburg is in a quiet neighborhood not far from the central station. Double bed was firm but comfy. Bathroom was fine with large enough shower although i don't know why there was a towel bar in front of the sink. Breakfast buffet ay 24 euros was a little high although selection was good. I'd definitely stay there again if i return to Salzburg.

The Mercure hotel in Salzburg was a great value choice for staying in a location that was convenient to get into the city centre and explore the Christmas markets and city attractions. Just about 10 minutes walk from the main train station and with a bus stop only 2 minutes away, you can get around the city and local area with ease. Much of Salzburg is easily walkable. The hotel is in a quiet residential area, the rooms are modern and comfortable and there are dining options on site, but these were expensive so we used the many cafes and restaurants in the city.

Mercure Salzburg City is a great hotel and I would stay again. The staff are super friendly, the hotel is well located (only 12 - 15 mins leisurely walk from the Makartsteg Bridge that crosses the Salzach), the rooms are spacious and clean, and the beds comfortable. The only disappointment was that the complementary bottles of water (2) in the fridge are not replaced each morning. So regardless of a single or multiple night stay, you get the two bottles. That doesn't make sense. If I book one night, I get the same as someone staying longer? Mercure management team: if you are going to provide water (which I really appreciated), then please make it consistent and fair. If I had known, I'd have bought water on my way back to the hotel on the second night. Buying your water at reception costs more than 3x the price in Spar!

I was on the 1st floor. Staff was smoking under my room so I was forced to close the window. According to reception they were not allowed but seeing the ash tray there, it appears to be different .

Staff were very friendly and professional. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room as well as a safe. The hotel is situated in the New Town with the Old Town a 15 minute walk away. The walk does take you past many shops and eateries and is very pleasant.
