"We loved this lovingly restored old mercantile/home before we even walked in the door. The owner maintained all the original beauty and characteristics. He even arranged for a local restaurant to make the one meal we love and hadn’t been able to find. Breakfast was absolutely lovely surrounded by so much history."

"The hotel is very close to the train station at Sao Bento which was ideal. The room was clean on arrival and kept that way. Breakfast was included in our package and exceeded expectations: there were many choices. Coffee was very good. Staff on the front desk were helpful throughout our stay. We bought some of the Courgette Jam we tried at breakfast: made from produce on their farms. It is delicious. We had an early flight back and missed breakfast but we were offered a packed lunch, which was...

"Schönes kleines zweckmäßig eingerichtetes Zimmer mit kleinem Balkon Frühstück ausreichende Auswahl Kostenloser Parkplatz in der Nähe wurde empfohlen (große Schotter Abstellfläche, aber immer gut voll) Parkhaus 100 m entfernt angeblich 6 Euro pro Tag"

"Good non modern basic accommodation"

"We arrived at the property and noted to be warm and somewhat humid inside the unit. We noticed that the unit is not blowing cold air. The fan was working well though. We contacted the responsible party. He guided me to some setting changes but, it didn't change anything. The outside street air was much cooler than inside. We left the windows open. But the street traffic noise was too loud and flies and bugs kept flying inside. We could not sleep much. They should not rent the unit if this...

"good location, close to everything. Prompt reply to all my questions. Good choice for budget travelers, especially those who need a kitchen"

"Great spot , perfect for a night in Porto"

"Fabulous location (Though a bit hard to find using just GPS-read their directions carefully)"

"I can’t say enough good things about staying at Canto de Luz. Hannah, Susana, McKenzie, and everyone there were so kind, warm, and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean and looked exactly like the pictures. The location was perfect- close to restaurants and sites but far away enough to also be relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and felt like eating a homecooked meal at home. Susana and Hannah took their time to make sure our check-in went smoothly through email and in-person when we...

"Everything was good and the host is really nice and welcoming, except for the shower. The water was not very hot and it became cold at one point when I was showering."

"Nice balcony and air conditioning worked well"
