"This accomodation is a genuin japanese experience with the cutest old couple as hosts. If you are looking for a modern and convenient accomodation this is not for you, BUT if you are looking for unique place to stay on the country side this is the place. We had a good stay for two nights. Having a car is probably a must to get around. "

"Fantastic place to stay which is close to nature, away from crowd. Nice architecture in local wood. Calm and peaceful. Well equipped kitchenwares so we can cook for dinner and breakfast. Enjoy my stay at here and definitely will back."

"Even though we were only at the house for one night, it was a very lovely stay. Nikko is gorgeous and the house allowed us to feel truly immersed in the culture. It’s relatively close to historical sites and Yoshiko was so kind to us. We had some delays and were rushed to reach the temple, but she drove us to ensure we had as much time as we could get. Would definitely stay again!"

"Everything went smoothly. Only one annoying check-in process, asking for date of birth, where you come from, and where you would be heading to, as a must information for check in. "

"The property was great and the beds were SOOO COMFORTABLE!!! There is a grocery store and drug store less than 5 mins away. This was a perfect place for our family and we look forward to visiting again. "

"Property was beautifully equipped in the kitchen and for entertainment. The private "onsen" of the bathroom was phenomenal. It had a sauna, a cold plunge and mineral spring bath all together. Was not really convenient to town but only a kilometer out. Check was terrible as they do it all remotely and the system was down. I tried several times to check-in on their tablet. I then video called via their tablet and he couldn't do it after 15 minutes. They then emailed me 3 more times about it, a bit annoying. Check out is early and exact we were walking to the door at 10am as she was knocking on the door."
"The hotel is close to railway and bus stations. Also a supermarket is two minutes away.. The front desk stuffs are very helpful and nice. The room is very clean and has no bad smells. Room is large compared with some other Japan hotels. Free breakfast is another plus!"

What are holiday rentals like in Shioya?
Holiday rentals are privately owned properties you can book for a few days, or a quick weekend, in Shioya. Holiday rentals provide amenities such as hot tubs, fire pits and patios so your stay will be comfortable. If you're concerned about a sanitised environment, holiday rentals can provide a sense of security away from shared hotel lifts and lobbies packed with people while still allowing you the enjoyment of travel. You'll also have more space in a holiday rental than in a hotel, which makes a holiday rental an attractive choice for small groups.
