"Highly recommend to stay at Cromwell’s Tap House. It’s located in the heart of Shrewsbury, at walking distance of pretty much everything in town. Only 7 minutes from the train station. The rooms were located on the first floor above the pub. We heard no noise whatsoever, and only in the morning we heard some cars go by, but it was of no nuisance to us. "Comfortable room at very reasonable price including full breakfast, which was excellent. Convenient for city centre, cathedral and cricket (my reason for trip). I travelled by train so can't comment on parking. It's an old inn so rooms are not super-modern but have character. It was very warm until I had had the windows open overnight. A fan was provided but I was glad I missed the predicted heatwave a few days later. With windows open there was a degree of street noise, e.g. bin lorries early...

The room I stayed in was a really great size, bathroom was great and the bed was comfy. The location was fantastic also. "It's very close to some of the Iron bridge attractions, close to the river Severn, and within fairly easy walking distance to the town centre. The room we had was a family room, so more than big enough for us. There was no air conditioning, but a large ceiling fan kept the room cool . Food in the restaurant was excellent. "

"We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. Our large room had a comfy 4 poster bed, table, chairs in the bay window. Bathroom had large fluffy towels, lots of hot water. The views from both windows overlooked the well manicured grounds with benches, fabulous flowers in baskets and trees Breakfast was tasty with vegetarian options. The Eggs royale was excellent. Inn was clean, tastefully decorated with friendly efficient staff. "
