"Glacier Bay Lodge is several miles outside of the small town of Gustavus, but the destination of choice for travelers to the area, providing an optimal staging place for trips out to the glacier. We hiked the coast on the forest trails running north and south from the lodge. Both trails are extremely well maintained and gorgeous the whole way through. The staff was more than happy to ensure we knew all of the risks in the area and allow us to borrow bear spray just in case things went sideways....

"Located close to everything, restaurants, shops, capital building...feels like you are at home... front door and room is open with code they text you....breakfast is like you are in your own kitchen, just help yourself with fridge, coffee and whatever...apple, cookies, coffee and tea are there all day...loved terrace and spas (on on second one on third floor)..nice views....It seems than one person is in charge for everything (front desk and rooms, breakfast)....Tina connected me with local...
