"The exterior looks borderline terrible, but the room was in good condition. The staff was clearly the best part of my stay by a long shot. They were helpful and very accommodating. Went above and beyond to make me as comfortable as possible. "
"I was woken up at little past midnight to being bitten by a bed bug. I informed the front desk immediately. The man at the counter was apologetic but could not help me in other way except to offer to place my clothes in a dryer.
I left immediately!! Had to find another hotel in the middle of the night in Kentucky. It was a horrible experience!"
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pikeville by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"We only stayed 1 night. We had a suite with the king bed. Very spacious, clean, although we did find a snuff can in the couch. There wasn't any extra blankets or sheets in the room for the pullout couch but my daughter is small enough she just slept on top of it. The breakfast was so AMAZING. I can't brag enough about it, there was something for everyone and everything was good, finally a breakfast potato with flavor in a hotel. The hotel itself was clean on the inside. Finding how to pull into it was a disaster, there are no signs anywhere for any kind of direction. Lots of restaurants nearby, we used doordash for dinner. They forgot my fork but the nice night reception lady helped with that. "
"Excellent friendly staff! People upstairs got a little noisy outside and cops were outside right after I got there so I was a little worried but it could have been an emergency situation, the rest of the stay was quiet theyre very accommodating and pet friendly! Away from main road , peaceful setting but close to restaurants and downtown! Nothing super fancy if that’s what you’re looking for but served my purpose! Good price Would stay again! "
"Way, way, way, over priced for a fishing camp hotel. Price gouging at its best! Terrible location, congested bad. If the price would have been $75.00 a night I would be a little nicer. Sorry not $335 a night because of a concert in town."
"Lady at check in was very friendly, asked if I smoked and said yes but don’t want a smoking room. Walked in and was nasally accosted by the stench of disappointment, Virginia Slims, and old feet. Realizing it was a smoking room, I immediately considered having a slumber party in my car rather than having to sleep in there. The personal decorative touch of cigarette burns decorating the blankets weren’t exactly my vibe so I attempted to find sleep on the top sheet with a jacket, dressed the pillows in my finest clean t-shirts, and wore a designated pair of floor socks to use the bathroom once. Luckily for my peace of mind, I travel with an extendable police baton which became the overnight watchman mascot that took the night shift in case the less than stellar door lock failed. Woke up early on purpose, considered for zero seconds taking a shower or checking out what surprises I can imagine awaited me at breakfast, and hit the road as soon as I could. I had driven 9 hrs through the mountains & it was non-refundable, so I pretended I was blind at the Bellagio & got a few hours of sleep before 8 more hours of mountain driving. Comes highly not recommended, like, ever. "
