"The hotel’s public rooms maintain a faded charm of times long gone, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are modern, well equipped and functional. The setting overlooking the coast could not be bettered - and enjoying it whilst tucking into an excellent buffet breakfast was great. We will definitely return."

"Narrow entrance to car park with two prominent concrete boulders. Scraped front wing on arrival boulders are hidden from drivers view due to small turning angle so beware....rooms have not been updated for several years. Bathroom very small, shower in bath lacked pressure. Staff excellent, nice continental breakfast. Great location . Hotel full of character set in lovely grounds."

"Gordon House was absolutely lovely and even better than expected! So spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated. Anne the owner was such a lovely, delightful lady, at breakfast she was friendly, kind and considerate to all of the guests and nothing was too much trouble. "We booked two rooms while walking the coast path. Neither room had a working shower. Both produced boiling hot water that would burn.All we were offered was the use of another shower in an outside building. We declined. Tired building and the Manager uninterested in offering any support or refund. He just told us the rooms were due to be updated! My advice..Go somewhere else. "

"Lovely clean and tidy hotel. The rooms look refurbished and were spotless. We had the family room which was bigger than we were expecting. Two separate bedrooms and a bathroom. The staff were pleasant. Parking plentiful. Breakfast (eggs, hash browns, beans, sausages, bacon etc.) was included. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants/shops. Perfect for our stay."

"The restaurant staff was very friendly but reception was more like “This is it, take it or leave it”… We asked support for our son to have a quick shower as he felt unwell under the sun, just 5 minutes after we checked out ( at a time earlier than 11 am check out time) they showed no empathy The second bed was extremely uncomfortable. "A clean quiet hotel in a good location about 15 minutes walk along the promenade from the centre of Swanage. Staff are very helpful. Serves breakfast and dinner and has a spa in the basement and pleasant beer garden right above the beach. The parking is very limited and the only other downside is that the bed is one of the least comfortable (/older?) that I have slept in."

"I LOVED this place! A proper British pub, that was so cozy it felt like home. I absolutely loved the towel warmers ( we don't have that in the US) and the Ily coffee in the room with a French press and cookies. Was an extra cherry on top! The bed was so comfortable and felt like I was in the countryside tucked away from the world. I absolutely loved it and would 10/10 come back and stay again! Not to mention the breakfast was absolutely fabulous! Thank you for such a great stay!"
