"It was a weekday stay, quiet and clean environment. Breakfast was typical of a budget hotel. Docs gymn is just a few blocks away and Schack restaurant and liquor store 1 block away."
"It is a beautiful place & staff was very friendly & accommodating. Beds were very comfortable.
We discovered the place wasn’t cleaned well. The bedding appeared to be changed but floors, counter tops & tops of nightstands were not cleaned. The bathroom counter is dark so easy to miss the long black hair on it. I wiped it with a damp Kleenex and came up with long black hair. There was a large spill on a nightstand that I had to wash. Towels & toilet paper weren’t restocked. We had to ask for both. I would stay again but will inquire to ensure everything was cleaned & restocked."
"I have stayed at Barker's Island Inn dozens of times over the past 20+ years. It has a great location on the bay that I value because I love to fish in the area with my boat. The bar and restaurant were good except there is no breakfast served weekdays unlike years past. The staff were helpful but were thin in numbers.
The room we stayed in looked just like it did 20 years ago with zero improvements. Bath hardware should have been replaced decades ago--it sucks. Same carpeting and noisy HVAC system too . The beds were ok but the pillows must have been from a college dorm room. Very uncomfortable. There is an empty corner with a floor lamp and no chair---what?? We stayed two nights and staff did not make up beds between nights, just cleaned bathroom. That was a minor issue.
The breakfast was the same style we saw during Covid: dry cereal, breakfast bars, coffee, pitcher of OJ, yogurt and cellophane wrapped mystery muffins. What a joke!
The swimming pool and hot tub were nice but shows needed rehab. Pool showers had faucets that were broken. Get the picture?
It is clear to a longtime user like me, that Barker's is in need of massive room refurbishment. Nothing has changed in over 20 yrs--nothing! Unless you are a boater, I recommend a different hotel."
"Stunning views of the harbor, bridge and hillside. Great location for a stay during Bayfront music, Bulldog hockey, Grandma’s marathon or the weekly sailboat regatta. Good food in the restaurant but no complimentary breakfast.
Pool and jacuzzi warm and clean. Sauna and cold
plunge next door at Cedar and Stone"
