Good staff, property needs investment

The staff are great and are genuinely doing their best. Like a lot of properties of this era, it is a bit tired and requires investment to keep it competitive with disrupters to the market such as Premier Inn.

Good hotel by a lake

Nice hotel, right next to a lovely lake which you can walk around. Good breakfast, good evening menu and nice bar. Just a shame that the swimming pool was no longer open (permanently closed).

Very convenient.

The hotel was very convenient for us when we needed to be nearby for an appointment early in the morning. It seems a bit dated but the bed was comfortable. The signs directing to rooms were a bit confusing. There wasn't much tea and coffee provided but I'm sure we could have had more if we had time to ask. There wasn't much room to hang clothes but I guess it's not designed for a long stay. Staff very helpful, particularly on reception. Food was tasty and well presented.

We only stayed one night so the hotel was ok, it seems a little old and run down, and the sink in my room was blocked and drained away slowly. I did not report this until the morning of departure as it was too late by the time we used the sink in the bathroom.Staff were all very friendly.

After a long trip, the receptionist was very helpful and handed over some Welsh Cakes as a gift. We booked a meal at the restaurant for that evening without any hassle. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Will stay there again.
