Hotel ibis Schiphol Amsterdam Airport

Hotel ibis Schiphol Amsterdam Airport

8/10 Good
"While the room was small and basic the staff here were excellent. They were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast offered at the property was excellent with lots of options. The airport shuttle was very convenient. The hotel is also a very short walk away from the public transit bus terminal where you can take Route 397 to the Museum area and other places."

"For a one night stay, which i imagine is the likely high percentage of guests, the access to AMS is excellent - a 10 min walk from the main terminal. Check in was simple, automated, but with staff on hand to help. Being able to bring a trolley from airport to the hotel was also a win, although some of the curbs had a steep drop. The room is quirky, i liked the clean, minimalist approach, and as a solo business traveller the open toilet and shower worked for me, but if sharing it does offer a reduced level of privacy and you would be hard pressed to open large suitcases up on the floor if more than one. I loved the digital handset (mini ipad) to operate everything, from lights to blinds to TV's, Wifi worked well and the inclusion of a UK plug socket was very, very good as i had overlooked this for my one night stay before travelling to the USA. I went back to AMS to pick up food and snacks, but there is a bar and restaurant with a range of options that looked reasonable priced."

"Clean room but very small and not functional. The photos portrayed a larger image . The bathroom especially was not practical. Even though we were told we were upgraded to a fully renovated room it was on ground floor & could hear traffic n people passing by talking . Breakfast was great !"

"Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned each day, but they didn't seem to sweep/vacuum the floor. There was a restaurant downstairs, and a store for snacks, drinks, coffee, etc below too, which was a plus."

Poppies

Poppies

8/10 Good
"Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay at Poppies. When we first arrived, I was honestly a little shocked by how small the room was. It was even smaller than I had expected, and the facilities were extremely basic. There was no hair dryer, no microwave, and not even conditioner. The whole place has a very minimalist style, so if you are expecting a traditional hotel room with lots of amenities, this may take some getting used to. However, after staying for a couple of days, we gradually got used to the small space and actually found the hotel quite practical. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. The location also turned out to be more convenient than we initially thought. Bus 391 stops nearby and takes you directly to Zaanse Schans, which was perfect for our day trip to see the windmills. If you are a reasonably fast walker, you can also walk to Amsterdam Central Station in about 25 minutes. Considering the price, especially compared with many hotels in Amsterdam, I think Poppies offers pretty good value for money. The room is definitely very small and the amenities are limited, but if you mainly need a clean, affordable place to sleep and don’t mind a minimalist setup, it’s a good choice. Overall, a pleasant stay and good value for the price."

"The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean. The breakfast food was good although we found the snack options very expensive! The bar was clean and most of the staff were lovely."
