"The Tahiti Airport Motel is basic but reasonable for a 1 night stay when proximity to the main airport is a priority. The rooms are small but clean and adequate. The front desk clerk spoke English and was helpful. The weird thing is that you can see the motel from the front of the airport but you really can't walk there (especially with luggage) and they do NOT have a shuttle. I called the motel upon arrival and they instructed me to take a taxi from the airport which cost $20 each way. For...

Rooms have a small balcony overlooking the hills. Beds were comfortable and the shower is huge. You can also shower and refresh on arrival even if your room isn't ready in the locker room by the pool and then store your luggage. "Spacious 3 bedroom villa with great air conditioning in bedrooms, wonderful deck and plunge pool. Handy to have washing machine. Close to good restaurants. Welcome guide would be helpful or more communication with host / front desk re garbage etc. We had no mosquitoes and sat outside at dusk and in the evenings. Wonderful stay!"

"This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. The closest grocery store (outstanding selection of fresh fruit & veggies, meats, and...
