"The highlight of going to Chatham is visiting a friend and staying at this hotel. I have now stayed in three different rooms and I get excited opening the door to see what my room might look like.
Conveniently located, right downtown shadow, you can eat at the attached restaurant or walk to any of the other grade spots in the downtown core.
The gym is actually not on the property but instead access is given to guests at the hotel to use very well equipped fit for less just across the parking lot. Less convenient in the winter, but certainly not a big deal to pop over in the nice weather.
The only downside is that there is not a coffee maker in the room. I love having a cup of coffee in my pajamas. I’m not having to see anyone. I did learn on this day that if I reached out ahead of time, they can put a coffee maker in your room, they do have a few kicking around.
You will definitely not be disappointed with a stay at retro suites."
"Fingerprints and smeared food on microwave and desk/table surfaces. Almost no breakfast, stale croissants. No coffee cups in room. Only one mostly used tube of shampoo. No body wash. One bar of soap. It is cheap, but much could be done to make it better."
"Staff is top notch! Got to know a few of them on a first name basis. Haven’t experienced customer service like this in a long time! Housekeeping and food/beverage staff were top notch as well. Will Defs be back!"
"I stayed here on a business trip, my first time there. The room had been recently renovated, everything is new. Everything worked perfectly. Nice quiet location just outside Chatham. The owner was very kind to accommodate my special request for parking. Room is not large but was certainly enough space. Fridge and microwave in the room were certainly appreciated. A couple of little tips: food facilities are a bit of distance, so I picked that up on the way there. Also the volume buttons on the TV remote are on the side. Overall very pleased and I recommend this motel "
"Despite being under construction during my stay, the property was still very well maintained and managed. The room itself felt recently updated—comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully arranged.
Breakfast was enjoyable, and the dining room had a bright, cheery atmosphere that made for a great start to the day. The gym was more than adequate and felt a step above what I’ve experienced at most hotels.
The standout of the stay, however, was the front desk staff. They were consistently cheerful, pleasant, and helpful, and their wonderful sense of humour made the experience even more memorable.
Overall, a very positive stay with minimal disruption from the ongoing work."
