"I would have given this hotel 1 star, but I’m giving 2 stars because they eventually moved us to another room.
What is most concerning is that Room 310 should never have been assigned in the first place. Our friend stayed in that same room the night before and was told by hotel staff that the room “needed work” and would be taken out of circulation. Less than 24 hours later, we were checked into that exact room with no apparent repairs or improvements made.
The room was in poor condition:
* The beds had mismatched sheets.
* The floors were visibly dirty.
* The bathroom smelled strongly of urine.
* The bathtub sealant was peeling and coming off.
* The entire room had a damp, wet-carpet odor.
The fact that management was aware the room had issues severe enough to be removed from circulation, yet rented it out again the next day, is unacceptable. While I appreciate that they eventually moved us, it should not have taken a complaint to address a room that clearly was not ready for guests. However I am 100% sure they cleaned the room for another guest that evening, because they mentioned a “switch”.
To make matters worse, we paid $350 for one night. At that price point, guests should expect a clean, well-maintained room—not dirty floors, a bathroom that smells like urine, peeling tub sealant, mismatched bedding, and a strong wet-carpet odor. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable for the rate charged and did not come close to matching the value we received"
"The hotel is beautiful. There was someone playing a grand piano when we checked in. Our room was spacious and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We had a view to distant hills. Bottled water was free and readily available. We enjoyed walking around the grounds. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was very good and the staff delightful. The whole experience was peaceful."
"Enjoyed the stay with two exceptions. First is the self check in kiosk. I had a problem so I hit help request. After ten minutes I gave up and went to the desk. The second was I couldn’t adjust the room A/C unit in the room. It said it was set for 65* but both nights both my wife and I woke up in the middle of the night sweating. But overall it was a good stay."
