"Great reception on arrival, large comfortable room. Dining options were excellent and the portions huge and well presented. Breakfast the same and wonderfully cooked. All staff were polite and welcoming and will definitely return when in the area. 10/10 from me "

"Lovely cosy and comfortable hotel. Was ideal for us as close to a wedding we were attending. The food in the restaurant was delicious (we had an evening meal there but didn't order breakfast). "

"The hotel was located right on the Main Street and o we looked the river, that’s fabulous. The room was nice BUT NO A/C and our days and nights were in the 80s! The breakfast was lovely and a full English breakfast. They only have 4 parking spots, so beware! Parking every 90 mins was tricky. But after 6pm, shoppes closed. Must move car 8am! So, travel by train, then do the hiking. It worked out and we have a fabulous time"

"Really enjoyed my stay here. I normally stay in modern hotels so this was a change for me. The town is lovely with narrow streets and old buildings so took a while to find the car park to the rear but that’s on me. From check in to check out though everything was an absolute pleasure. The young lady on the desk checked me in promptly and actually showed me to my room instead of just passing a key and having to try and find it in this quaint old building. Room was nice, fitting for the building...

"After a long motorbike trip from Plymouth to Harrogate my husband stayed here for a night half way he said it was an absolute gem and loved his room and bathroom. The pub was welcoming and friendly and had a food truck too. "

"Accommodation was great, clean and newly refurbished with spacious room and good shared kitchen/laundry facilities. Shortage of forks/mugs however in kitchen. Good location near university with lots of nearby buses and train to centre. Accommodation could do better with recycling though and communal lights left on 24 hrs etc. HOWEVER I extended my stay and was NOT given the new door code so was forced to wait for more than 2 hours outside until the ‘emergency’ phone number picked up. "The apartment we stayed in was perfect for our stay as a basis to explore Gloucester and the northern Cotswolds. The docks with a choice of restaurants is in walking distance, parking for the car at the back with easy access. Beds were super comfy. Everything was clean. Perfect. We will be back! "
