"Looks like they’re trying to remodel roof needed repaired air conditioner wasn’t working well swimming pool was not working when we got there so we left and went to another place"
"The real presence of the facility is nothing like the website represents. The facility is rundown and unkempt. The checkin/checkout staff is unfriendly and non-professional zombies. If travelers are looking for a nice stay, do not choose this facility."
Doubletree by Hilton Abilene Downtown Convention Center
6/10 Okay
"Not impressed with the room or amenities for the price. I felt penalized for not being Hilton Member. Was told the reason we were charged $4 for bottled water was because we were not members it would have been free otherwise. Felt forced to use Valet parking. Was given the option to use the back parking lot and when we did, there’s no entrance from the backside of the building. Had to walk all the way around
Glad we didn’t use anything else!! Not the way to get someone to become a member!!!Paid the same price in San Antonio at the Mokara and was worth every penny. We didn’t have to do anything they got our ice brought us complimentary fruit treated us EXCELLENT and that was the first time we ever stayed there. Valet was included in the room. Needless to say we WILL NOT stay at Double Tree or a Hilton again if this is their idea of 5 star."
"The room was okay but the carpet was old and torn. The tub was nasty and moldy around the drain. I wouldn’t take a bath. The bed was nice and clean with fresh sheets and the refrigerator was clean. Overall, the room was not worth the price. This was a two star room with Three star price. Beware!"
