"A truly spectacular place. It is a 300-year-old villa that has been beautifully renovated. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The staff was helpful, friendly, and gracious. The made-to-order breakfast was outstanding! There are many little spots throughout the gardens where you can relax with a glass of wine and admire the views of the Douro River. "

"The property makes creative use of its small space in the historic area. We enjoyed our balcony view of the city from our studio. Fresh and new inside with a Roman wall in the back. Staff is wonderful and genuinely helpful. Breakfast is good too. But do not plan to drive or park there. The road is very narrow. We left our car at a nearby parking garage. Wonderful location in the walkable historic district near the river."
